Interbrand Value and Market Cap: A More Meaninful Comparison...

The Interbrand value of Tiffany (NYSE:TIF) is 75% of its $5.3 billion market capitalization. That's no surprise. Tiffany is, above all else, the brand. But the Interbrand value of Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) is just 2% of its $191 billion market cap. How do you explain these differences? That's the purpose of this article.

Fortunoff hires big-name wedding guru...

Mindy Weiss has a celebrity clientele list that includes the likes of Eva Longoria, Sting, Wolfgang Puck and Gwen Stefani, but the Beverly Hills wedding and party planner has set her sights on East Coast brides.

Weiss, who is nationally known, is the new wedding and entertaining spokeswoman for Fortunoff, the Uniondale-based retailer of jewelry and home furnishings. "We've always been, and continue to be, the leader in the bridal world," said Fortunoff's chief executive, Arnold Orlick. "At the same time, it's a very competitive environment, and we have to be exciting. ... We knew we needed something better than our competition has and something young brides today would be interested in."


Trump Jewelry - People aspire to connect with  Trump (according to Trump)...

The Donald and his daughter, Ivanka, have both broken into the jewelry business. Ivanka Trump’s high end jewelry line will be sold through her own store starting this September. Donald announced that he too is venturing into the jewelry market. After real estate and reality TV, he’s expanding his brand by adding fine jewelry to his list of achievements. The entrepreneur partnered with jewelry manufacturer SHR, a division of M. Fabrikant & Sons, to create the Donald J. Trump Signature Fine Jewelry Collection.

“People aspire to connect with my lifestyle. A collection of fine jewelry is a natural step for my brand. This collection is aspirational, elegant, and completes the dressed for success look” Trump said of the new collection which includes diamonds, gemstones and gold.
