Fortunoff, New York-based retailer of jewelry and home furnishings, has hired Mindy Weiss, wedding and party planner to the celebrities. Among her list of star clientele are Eva Longoria, Sting, Gwen Stefani and Wolfgang Puck.

Fortunoff has revamped its Web site, which will be launched in January along with a bridal registry site through which Weiss will offer advice and tips to brides. The site will be interactive allowing the public to ask questions related to their wedding plans.

Weiss will also impart her wedding and party tips in two appearances scheduled this month for stores in Westbury and White Plains.

Fortunoff was originally founded in 1922 and has stores in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Its flagship store is located in Westbury, New York with a jewelry-oriented outlet on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.
