Diamond in the Rough designs dream gift - National Jeweler
New YorkâLooking to add something fantastical to your holiday wish list this year, such as a 100-foot-long dragon topiary or a submarine with leather seats and air conditioning? How about a 305.18-carat natural rough-diamond necklace?
That's what Diamond in the Rough is offering Neiman Marcus customers as the retailer's exclusive jeweler for the 81st edition of its Christmas Book Fantasy Gifts, a legendary source for alluring and mystical gifts.
Diamond in the Rough will create a one-of-a-kind necklace, tailored to the desires of the customer, featuring a 305.18-carat natural rough diamond that the company says is one of the largest unearthed in the Andulo region of Angola. According to Diamond in the Rough, the stone sparkles with rich gold, green and amber tones, and has not been cut, polished or altered whatsoever. The gift begins at $1 million, but is virtually unlimited in price depending on the final necklace design.
"Natural rough diamonds are our muse. They inspire us to create every one of our unique designs, and we are excited to have the opportunity to invite the customer into our process and share our passion for these incredible, mysterious stones," Diamond in the Rough President Anjanette Clisura said in a media release. "Diamond in the Rough is honored to be included in Neiman Marcus' Christmas Book as the first piece of rough-diamond jewelry to grace its pages."
Diamond in the Rough premiered its signature collection to critical acclaim, being named the "Best New Jewelry Collection for 2007" by Robb Report. The philosophy of the brand combines the old-world lure of natural, rough diamonds with exquisitely crafted, contemporary design that pays homage to the coveted place the gems have held in history since 800 B.C.
