Richemont Jewelry Sales +15%, U.S. Sales Slow - Rapaport

Luxury retailer Richemont reported its jewelry store sales grew 15 percent to EUR 863 million ($1.26 billion) in the third quarter ending December 31, 2007. Overall group sales rose 14 percent to EUR 1.67 billion ($2.44 billion) for the period.

“The group overall enjoyed good growth in underlying sales during the first two months of the quarter. However, December saw underlying growth of 10 percent, as demand in the United States and Japan markets slowed somewhat,” the company reported in a statement.
