UAE Rough Diamond Trade Nears $5B in 2007 - Rapaport

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) reported a surge in its rough diamond trade during 2007 as it benefited from the rise in rough prices. Total trade for the year (imports and exports) rose 23 percent to $4.8 billion, though the total volume of diamonds that went through the UAE fell 1 percent to 83.8 million carats, according to the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE.)
